As we head into summer and host barbecues in our backyards, get away to beaches, and reunite with family and friends, let’s remember to give thanks. Personally, I thank those who serve or have served in the military. Without their service and sacrifice, we wouldn’t be living in this beautiful country where we can freely express ourselves.
As a company that works with many veterans and current service members, I’m proud to share this is the 10th anniversary of Freedom Mortgage’s Rucksacks to Backpacks program.
Over the years, Freedom Mortgage employees have rallied together to donate nearly 22,000 backpacks and over 57,000 school supplies like pens, notebooks, and folders. The backpacks and supplies will be distributed to USO (United Service Organizations) Centers across the country to children of active-duty military, National Guard members, and Reservists. It gives us so much joy to do our part to help prepare these children for the start of a new school year.
The USO is an organization whose critical mission has supported service members and their families throughout over 250 locations worldwide for the past 81 years.
