What a year it has been. We emerged from being locked down with a new appreciation for our personal freedom and the value of reconnecting with family and friends in person. While news of the omicron variant now dominates the headlines, it doesn’t diminish the importance of the holidays that are officially upon us.

This time of year gives me such joy. It’s the season of generosity, to gift our loved ones and to support those who may be struggling, especially children who are sick and staying in hospitals to get treatment. At Freedom Mortgage we hold several major campaigns throughout the year that rally our employees to donate to several worthy organizations that support veterans, the children of military families, local communities and food banks. Over the past month, I’m so proud of my team for raising money for Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), The Salvation Army, and Toys For Tots. With my matching contribution, together, we raised over $200k which will be split among the three organizations.

Growing up and living in the Philadelphia area, CHOP has a special place in my heart. I’m proud of their work and excited about their recent expansion in King of Prussia, where their pediatric specialists can extend their work and help even more children in need of medical services.

It’s always prudent to spend wisely. As inflation continues its trajectory and interest rates fluctuate, it’s the optimal time to take stock and focus on your short- and long-term financial goals. If you are looking to buy a home, interest rates are still competitive. If you are a homeowner and haven’t refinanced in the past two years, definitely take a closer look to see if you could be saving by getting into a lower rate.

Before I sign off, I want to remind you that now is the perfect time to reflect on what you have done this year and look ahead to what you want to accomplish in the new year. I’m spending some time to do just that, so I’ll be ready to take on 2022.

I wish you and yours a wonderful holiday season and a Happy New Year!
